Waiver Wire opens soon and Richard Sherman is available. Is he a guy I should go after for my Defensive Back or should I be going after someone like Jason McCourty? We have a 100 budget for the year, so what is the max you would bid on Sherman?

Both of those guys r top 5 corners. But how many roster spots & what r offensive players going for? Lb's?

Sherman is a BEAST. Have no idea about salary caps and stuff but I love to watch that guy
    Bold Predictions:
Cordarelle Patterson replaces Josh Gordon in the top 5 WR group.
(Julio, Calvin, AJG, CP, and Dez)

Andre Williams proves himself to be the best RB in this class, by having the most productive rookie season of all the rbs.

I have Charles Woodson right now but I want to drop him. I am assuming most IDP guys dont go for more than a few bucks. I just want to make sure I get Sherman after the year he had last year. We have 26 roster spots. I have Bowman as my LB and Atkins at my DL.

What would you guys bid on him once the Waiver Wire opens? Is 5 bucks too much you think for a defensive back?

Tough to tell what to bid? Start @3. Woodson is over the hill but will see some action in Oakland (safety thou)

Does your league use DBs or CBs and Safeties? How many do you start?

If your league starts 1 or 2 DBs I wouldn't spend more than $1 on a DB.

This is a big question. What are your starting requirements?

    Your starting requirements are: 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1TE, 3FLEX (either RB, WR, TE), 1PK, 1LB, 1DL, 1CB

    You can't play Safeties?

I'm sorry it's 1 DB either a safety or corner. Sorry about that.

I know nothing about salary cap leagues, but I do know Sherman is a beast and will continue to remain one.

This is a very shallow IDP league so getting one of the top DL, LB and DB is important if you want the IDP advantage in scoring.  Sherman should be one of the top DB's in 2013 so bid enough to get it done IMO.

Sherman is certainly good, a better nfl player than fantasy player. In big play IDP leagues he was in the top 15 to 20, in tackle heavy leagues he was mid 30's. I wouldn't be putting more than $1 or $2 towards DB's as there are alot that score close to the same and I would/do tend to lean towards safeties as they score more consistently week to week, they get more tackles consistently especially strong safeties. Hope this helps.

I also like Morgan Burnett from the Packers. Looks like a IDP Fantasy breakout this year! What do you think? Ive seen him ranked as the top IDP safety on a few boards.
    14 Team, PPR, Full Dynasty (Start: 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1TE, 3Flex)
    QB: Luck, Vick, Keenum
    RB: AP, Murray, Dunbar, Blount
WR: Andre Johnson, Boldin, Nicks, Kerley, Lance Moore, Avant
    TE: Witten, Bennett,

    1) CB seasons are not predictable.  Sherman had a good year last year, but that means practically nothing as the top 15 CB's rotate on a yearly basis.
    2) Unless you have a funky scoring system, I would much rather start a S over a CB 99/100.  They are much more predictable, generally score more points and because of that Sherman wouldn't even be in my top 10 DB's and certainly isn't my #1 CB.

@  Fletch:  Burnett was one of the best safeties last yr, so he's already had his "breakout"

@OP:  Spend your money on the best LB'er you can buy.  Then the best DE you can buy.  I would then concentrate on getting the best backup LB and backup DE you can buy.  Lastly, I would worry about my starting DB (which I make a safety).

I think Burnett is a great choice. Pollard, Weddle,Harrison Smith and Moore would be good choices if you can't get Burnett.
