So where do we think Gronk's season is headed

I have a chance to acquire him in a salary cap league.  Currently I'm a Hernandez owner.  His contract is off the charts cheap.  In the deal I'd be giving up Rodgers.... I know....  but I have the most money for the auction and both Brees and Stafford will be available and I have the coin to snag one of them.

Curious where y'all think his health is going for this season and next.  Am I crazy to consider making this deal and with the plan to go after Brees?

well...he had 11 tds last year in 11 games...he has 38 tds in his last 43 games...even with his health up in the the air I think he falls into double digit tds...considering only 10 pass catchers had double digit tds and his auction price in your specific case is cheap...whats to think about?...go get em...how much is Rodgers price at cause im assuming by dealing him youd be cutting a lot of cost down...right?

Thanks farfromhome!  To keep it simple, Let's say on a $100 cap, Rodgers is at $14 (cheap), Gronk is at $0.01 (ridiculously cheap contract due to being drafted very late in rookie draft).  Rodgers is a good bargain, but I have enough cap that I feel like I should be able to get Brees or worst case scenario I get Stafford if the gamble backfired.  Gronk's salary is also protected/locked next year whereas Rodgers' is not.  I do not get back Rodgers' $14 as part of the deal though in this case.

Gronk will most likely start training camp on the PUP list.  The important thing is whether or not he's healed enough from his back surgery to be activated prior to the start of the season.  I think we have gotten so distracted by Aaron Hernandez, that we might be overlooking the possibility that Gronk might miss some time.

I have a feeling Gronk will be there Week 1; knowing how much the team needs him...

I would put a lot of money that Gronk starts the season on PUP.

Personally who cares about week one it's all about the second season and if u can compete with or without him till he's back and then get him in the playoffs that's what matters, I drafted him in a recent high stakes redraft in rd three and don't care as long as I get him for the playoffs ...

no doubt he is ready for week one in my personal opinion...he has a history of getting injured but he also has a history of recovering quickly and taking the field....gronk is like a 200 watt light bulb...burns fast and bright...but wont last long...that's how ill sum him up at the end of his career cause he will continue to play with that hulk smash attitude but his career will only be 4-5 years...

generally speaking players that start the season injured usually end up with others injures, just sayin..not that will happen with Gronk but he has not exactly been a picture of healthy so far but he is a monster when he does play...

If Gronk had a severe soft-tissue injury I'd be more concerned.  I think he should be fine, provided the Pats don't rush him back and allow him to get in shape.
