Yeah, Im saying T Rich is not elite too. Im responding to people calling out people that make predictions for breakouts. Saying its a win win situation. Its way more lame to criticize someones bold predictions with hindsight when they dont have the guts to make their own then it is to predict a breakout and tell people to be patient if they start slow.

Is one thing to disagree with someone on a player cause Im not down with T Rich being elite either. Its another thing to question someones integrity saying that its easy to just say someone will be elite and when you miss just keep saying to be patient so your never wrong. Thats not what Smitty or anyone else is doing here. Its only been 4 games in Trents 2nd season and hes on his 2nd team already this year. I dont think its crazy to have a little more patience on him to see what he can do in Indy. You dont need elite talent to be a fantasy stud.
See now things are being blown out of proportion. I was not questioning the integrity of Smitty at all. All I was doing was stating a fact in terms of FF predictions. A lot times someone claiming a breakout is in a no lose situation. This isn't just for Smitty, it's a generalzation of FF breakouts. I see it everywhere on multiple sights. Look, I respect Smitty and what he does. His track record speaks for itself. I think we calculated that he was 7-8 out of 10 for his 2012 breakouts. He's been there and done that.
I guess what irks me a little bit is the whole herd mentality. Once again, not directed at DC specifically, but just how I feel about that in all aspects of life. People should always think for themselves. I post questions here all of the time looking for imput, so I'm not saying I never ask opinions of ideas from anyone. Quite the opposite. I enjoy this site quite a bit and repect the people on it. When DC first became a "pay site" I was the one telling people that we should gladly pay the money just to keep this community together.
One thing that Smitty sais all the time, is that you need to be able to change your stance on players and conditions as things change. That's where I am with TRich. He was a top 10 RB last year as a rookie and dealing with injuries. I by no means think he's a bum, but the term bust is used based on price and expectations. Had Trich been a 4th round startup guy then he would be solid value right now. All I was getting at is that many here touted TRich as the #1 scoring RB in all formats. The season is not over yet, but if you held that belief then you were wrong. I was one of them at one point. Im sure there was more than one poll on here that I ranked TRich as my #1-2 RB this year. I have now changed my stance on him. It's all good, it happens. I make predictions just like everyone else. Sometimes Im wrong, sometimes Im right. Look at my signature. Do we really think Ivory has a chance at being a top 15 RB this year? I was wrong, so be it. Sorry for the rant, but my earlier comments were being misunderstood from my orginal intent, so I wanted to clear my stance up. I still love you all like brothers I never met :)

HellAtlantic said:I too agree with branch on the no-lose situation of FF journalists. But if we didn't debate at all and disagree there'd be no need to post here and customers want to see active forums when deciding if this is the right forum for them. If Haimez didn't disagree with smitty at every turn about ball I would have blindly selected ball at 1.1 but I liked haimez' posts about Gio and went with Gio. You need debate and disagreements.
