Does taking on these "old guys" help me in a title push?

I want to thank you guys for all the input. donvaughn, I don't criticize you for your stance either. I think I may be the only other 1 that felt somewhat the way you do here.  I took the deal though, RR/AJ/Colston for essentially Hilton/2nd was too much value to pass up. Here is my reasoning for even questioning the deal.

This league (much like many dynasty leagues), has a trade market that is dominated by youth. By taking on all these older players I am somewhat tying my hands when it comes to doing some offseason trades. Once the season is over, nobody wants guys like AJ/Colston/RR etc. It's all about the rookies and the next big thing. This is concerning to me because I am a Trade-aholic. I can probably move these players, but it won't be until next season starts, and I have to hope they produce. Value is value though, so that's why I took the deal in the end. I have to be a bit concerned about how much age my roster now has in the fantasy world (Peyton/Lynch/RR/AJ/Colston/Gates). A couple years ago I would salivate over that roster, but things change. I feel I need to sell off this team ASAP when next season rolls around. I worry that I'll be in the hunt again next year though and I'll end up holding for too long and all their value will evaporate. That's a long ways away though, and you never know when a franchise changing trade will land in your lap.

If it helps I used my 2nd 2014.draft pick to acquire Knowshon in the third week of fantasy used him until last weekend and traded him away for Andre Johnson knowing I'm in the playoffs's and need that consistent point maker on my receiving core. Neither player I had was planning to keep after this season anyway just using them like a cheap escort service to make me look good until I get to big game.
My league is a non PPR 12 person league having a roster of 19 players each. Active roster includes 1Qb 2Rb's 3Wr's 1Te 1K 1Def. Two weeks before draft we cut the roster down to 9 keepers. My team as of now:
QB Russell Wilson, EJ Manuel, Josh Mckown
RB Lamar Miller, Shane Vereen, Zac Stacy, Cierre Wood
WR AJ Green, Julio Jones, Josh Gordon, Andre Johnson, Rueben Randle, Kenny Stills
TE J Reed, M. Bennett, Delanie Walker
    DEF Kansas City, Cleveland
    K Steven Hauschka

Keep em for next year too. Why would u sell low anyway? Ride em out unless u get some value

well it all depends on my evaluation by draft day. Seeing who's in the best spot to step out of my nine keepers. Also making sure I keep my team fresh and relevant all the time so I'm always in the mix come crunch time like we are in now.

Go get Hopkins and Stills in trade...That would make hanging onto AJ and Colston easier even-though Colston doesn't do much for me here. It was all about getting Rice and Andre. I have Andre and Fitz in my main league and I already own Floyd and will try to get Hopkins this off-season so having those old guys wont matter to me.

I've tried to get Hopkins since the rookie draft. The owner isn't selling, period. Stills may be a possibility, but the Stills owner is obsessed with youth, and right now I have no youth to give in return.
