Here's a wrench, Anderson outplays him in pre-season, Elway starts to wonder, perhaps a mix of the two would make sense, as a pure runner I'm more impressed with this guy Anderson, who knows, but a possible wrench in the making, much like Stacy destroyed Pead's future etc. etc..

    its all the coach.......lol

these coaches know nothing like DC nation.

I usually think like this too but then you see coaches and GMs do crazy stuff like extend D Will and Stew to huge contracts in Carolina and dont do anything with the passing game.

I tend to devalue Ball some until I know that Knowshon will not be there next year.  Now obviously Moreno is not long term competition, and its not likely he does at this point.  But if the market (its been terrible) doesn't offer Moreno anything and he returns it would be very impactful on Ball's 2014 performance.   I believe his value will shoot up again once (if?) Knowshon signs with another team.

as a Denver fan I will say I think Moreno is gone.  Elway likes Ball & his 650k salary.  He also wants to prove he hasn't totally screwed up his draft picks & will give Ball a shot.  Elways top picks the last 2 years have been busts so far.  I mean he took Sly Williams & the next 2 picks were CP, Ogletree.

    2012- Wolfe, Osweiller, Hillman

    2013- Sly Williams, Ball

It's all coach in terms of never seeing him get a full chance. Whether he averaged 4.8 a carry or 4.0 would be on the line.

A decimated O line might make a team stear away from the run as well because they cant do it effectively.

Ball or the 1.01 for 2014?
    Bold Predictions:
Cordarelle Patterson replaces Josh Gordon in the top 5 WR group.
(Julio, Calvin, AJG, CP, and Dez)

Andre Williams proves himself to be the best RB in this class, by having the most productive rookie season of all the rbs.

Back on point, who thinks I'm nuts for not trading Montee Ball for Lynch in a keeper league (where both are on 1 year deals, Lynch is 51/1 and Ball is 22/1, but we all have a lot of cap room to be fair). Both have 'franchise' rights, so I can pay top 5 salary to keep them an additional year after 2014, which benefits Ball IMO, so both kind of have 2 year out looks.

I'm sticking to my guns on this and trusting my gut. Value wise (on the trade market, I'm turning down value I could maybe turn into more), but I truly feel Ball can be top 5-10, if not higher, for RBs in 2014.

I completely agree, but there still is that chance he returns strictly because he is a hell of a pass protector for Manning and his neck and the RB market is terrible and will get worse for FAs after draft.   Stranger things have happened.

I'm really excited for Ball to get his chance and show what he can do.

Depends on team needs and if Ball is your rock solid RB2 (like if you didn't have a good RB2 right now).... in that case, I am probably in the minority, but I'd take Ball.

If you own two top 12RBs or something and can only start two, it's not a move that helps your line-up, but you could move one of the other RBs... just without considering details, value wise I like Ball. Top 5-10RB easily deserves the 1.01, but I realize I'm overpaying a bit given that 5-10RB value is the ceiling.

    Ball, final answer.

I'm in a start up and start 2 rb, 3 wr and 2 flex...I have 1 rb and 2 wrs so far so either one of Watkins or ball would start for me. It's round 6 and both are there..unfortunately I don't have a 7th or 8th round picks so I'm only gonna be able to have one. I think ball would be most beneficial to my team but Watkins is just a nice trade piece if anything..

Yes, there is the chance. Sure. Everyone should keep that chance in mind, and this is why buying at his ceiling value (so buying him as a top 5-10RB) is not smart... That said, and this is where @swampies is running into trouble trading for some of the Upside Board guys, you can sometimes NOT make trades like sending Ball off for Lynch, where as you'd draft Lynch higher. So @swampies makes a great point that in some cases, not near all cases though, trading for a guy at his ADP doesn't ALWAYS work. It should, but in cases like my valuing Ball more than Lynch when I already own Ball, that differs than in cases where I may be drafting at the 1.12 and I DONT take Ball that high, but that's mainly because his ADP is easily in the 3rd, even if high third.

My only thinking for maybe taking Lynch is if I can turn him into more, but my hang up is that I really feel top 5-10RB numbers is in the cards, so why trade him at all when that's what I'd only hope to get in a Lynch-to-someone-else trade?

But, you have to demand way more. Act like Ball and another big name is needed and negotiate down. You should have no problem getting Ball and some. Would you all agree most would want the 1.01? I would think so, so you can get a nice WR upgrade or QB upgrade in the deal (ex going from an RG3 or Wilson to Foles, as just an example that may not even apply to the teams involved).

Ya I would take the 1.01 in hopes of someone overpaying for it later. Watkins works if no one would but, worst case I get ball and then some ya know?

I take Ball over the 1.01. I would also not trade Ball for Lynch. Not in a dynasty league.

I've got Gordon and the Ball owner was interested in Gordon, before he broke out, but wanted to buy low. We didn't make a deal and after the season was over he expressed regret.

What would even out a deal?

    Gordon for Ball + ? ?

I could use RB help, WRs stacked. His roster

Rashad Jennings, Miller, Ball, Jacquizz, Powell, Andre Brown, Todman, Polk, Barner
Calvin, Antonio Brown, Garcon, Amendola, Terrance Williams, Britt, Boyce, Denarius Moore
    1.2, 1.12, 2.12, 3.3, 3.4, 3.12, 4.12

    ppr 2rb 3wr 1flex

If you need a RB, he has absolutely nothing after Ball, and absolutely noting on that roster looks appealing starter wise but Calvin (if you could upgrade a WR2 to him, though). Sell high or not at all with Gordon. The 1.02 for your 2nd, or do you have a very late first? That swap would be solid depending on how many spots you move, but post your picks first before you go do anything. Bottom line is, you are trading a consensus top 12 pick for a third rounder (at best via ADP). You have to pretend you don't see the upside we do, because that's GMing this right. If you do this swap with scraps being added in, you're taking on nothing but risk and losing out on all kinds of potential upgrade opportunities.

If he took Gordon and 3.9 for Ball and the 1.2, Id consider it, but even then, I'd get some more takes first.
