According to ESPN Dallas, the Cowboys have had "internal discussions" about trading Felix Jones.

Beat writer Calvin Watkins says it "wouldn't surprise
anyone" if the Cowboys moved on from Jones if they found an early- to
middle-round runner to replace him as DeMarco Murray's complementary
back. Jones is signed only through 2012, so the time for Dallas to move
on from him is now, if that's their true intent. It sounds like Jones
will be available on draft weekend.

Not that I was worried about Felix holding Murray back, but i'm sure he would have stolen some carries.  I hope this comes true as I think Murray's value would then sky rocket.

Actually I think this could be disastrous to Murray. What if they trade Felix and draft a guy like Miller or Martin? Felix is no threat to Murray but they might steal more carries than Felix would.

If they trade Felix, I don't see them reaching for another RB in the first 3 rounds (although we are dealing with Jerry Jones).  I think they take a back in rounds 4 or 5 and look to FA for a vet back.  Even if they take one in the 3rd round, the 2nd tier backs should be gone by then.

    Maybe they bring back Choice.

I agree with JR, Felix is staying is not a bad thing for Murray.  Can't see choice coming back either, but you never know I guess.

I actually think this would cause them to strongly consider grabbing a RB somewhat early in the draft.  There isn't much behind Murray and Jones.

They are not gong to trade Jones. Although this is the last year on his contract.  He is a perfect complement for Murray.  I see them signing a veteran after the draft to compete for the 3rd spot with guy they might draft in the late rounds.

Haha, isn't Tanner serving refreshments on the sidelines?  He surely isn't a depth RB IMO.

I wouldn't be so sure about that with the report that came out yesterday that Dallas really liked Martin.

So the Cowboys are going to take him with the 45th pick? Not when they are desperate to beef up there defense. They are not going to take Martin with the 14th pick that's too high.  They may really like him but I think that is just talk to get a team earlier in the second round to bite and take him so the a better player falls to them.  Why would they release that information about really liking Martin if they wanted him? They should say stuff like we didn't like him, we have concerns about his back ground etc. etc.  Second round you have about 5 teams that need a RB if you prop up the value of somebody that might not be taken that early knowing who's in front of you you may try to manipulate their picks so a better player falls to you.  IMO that's what they are doing.  Rams (two swings), Colts, Bucs (if they don't get TR) Browns, Dolphins all have picks before the Boys in the second round.  Only 15 days to find out. :-)

I think Martin will be gone by 45 too.

I 100 percent agree with this. Every runner has to have a back-up, and I want my back up to be named Felix Jones, who has never put it together for even half a season IMO. That's the very safest route IMO.

I find it hard to believe that Jerry Jones would trade away his man-crush Felix Jones.

Well, his son Stephen had this to say:
"No discussions –- or speculation -– on the possibility of a trade
involving Felix Jones have ever taken place among individuals in this
organization who would have the authority to explore such a scenario,"
said Jones. "Any reports of apparent internal discussions along those
lines would involve people who have no input or relevance in the
    process."

Sounds a little too emphatic... get ready for Felix to be traded.  :)

Jerry Jones has always liked Felix. I would be surprised if he gets traded.
