most peoples lives are a direct reflection of the expectations of those around you

what if you have a higher expectation for yourself than those you associate with?

Not even close JR, they are not even in the same ballpark.  I'm just comparing the situation.  I think Tate pushed Foster to work like he has never worked before.  I think Blount will be working his a$$ off with his back against the wall.

I somewhat agree that Blount will be working harder this year and is worth acquiring by the Martin owners on the cheap as insurance.  Blount is on a one year contract anyway so you never know what this year or next year will bring for the guy.
  • I think Coach Schiano drafted Doug for a reason. Blount doesn't fit into his system very well. I wouldn't be surprised of Blount is completely irrelevant in terms of fantasy by next winter.

Schiano wants a new Ray Rice for his offense and he feels that hes drafted one.

Keep making me drool JR, you love to butter me up! lol. Plus Martin's surroundings are fair more elite than Boldin and Flacco.

I dont think Freeman is more elite than Flacco. You have to be elite in the 1st place before you can be more elite. They are a wash IMO and Id prob take Flacco 1st.

  • No one expected Foster to become the top RB when Ben Tate was drafted.  Why can't Blount do the same?  Not that I believe he will, but it's possible.

Let's look at the differences, and granted a lot can happen before September.

Foster / Tate.  Tate was drafted in the late 2nd round 58th overall.  And while Tate was tabbed to be the preseason favorite to win the starting job he broke his ankle during the first preseason game and was placed on IR.  Foster went on to shine with Tate no longer in the picture.

Martin / Blount.  The Bucs traded back up into the back end of the first round to select Martin.  Unless he gets hurt, the team will probably want to get him on the field to justify the investment the have made in him.  Blount doesn't strike me as the type of player who will step up his game in the face of adversity.  I can see him becoming a problem in the locker room and him eventually being cut or traded.  So he can take his fumbling skills to another team.
  • valid points.  Hou traded up to snag Tate, for the record.
