Is it just me?  I'm not that big on this guy, at least not in his rookie season.  I think he might need a little time to develop as a WR, and I'm afraid that if Tebow gets into the game, with the way he locks on to 1 guy, that Hill will be a forgotten man.
  • His measurables are off the charts.  You can count me as a believer in him "long term".  Short term...?  I don't expect miracles this year but a 6'4'' guy that can run a 4.36, w/a 40'' vert, 11'1" broad jump has skills that you just can't coach.  All I need to see year one is a flash from him, a la Torrey Smith.   I really wouldn't be surprised to see his skills translate to the NFL even though they weren't used in college.

Greg Childs has essentially the same measurables, is in arguably a better situation, and is going a round later.  I'd prefer to get a guy like Pead, Wright, or Jeffery in that late-1st spot and then grab Childs later on.

I like him, but I hate Sanchez. Everyone keeps talking about Tebow as if he is the starter. Thats not gonna happen.....as a QB. Sanchez needs to work on his accuracy before I trust a Jet wr.

I would have less issue with Hill if Sanchez was the true starting QB.  I just see some sort of weird committee between Sanchez and Tebow, with Tebow brought in for a significant number of red zone plays, think Kordell Stewart / Neil O'Donnell.  Any which way, it's going to be a giant mess.

Really?  4.55, 37'' vert, 10'5'' broad jump vs 4.36 / 40 / 11'1''?  Childs does have long arms and BIG hands, but isn't nearly as fast or explosive and will have competition for playing time and looks if he gets on the field.  I know a lot is being made of his location but Plaxico and his slow moving ass were almost relevant last year with Sanchez at the helm.  Tebow complicates things for me a little but I really don't think he is the answer there.  I think he is really only there to help move the chains in certain situations since their running game is in shambles.  Hill also has a real lack of competition right now and I think he immediately will become the best WR on that roster even with limited experience.

Childs ran a 4.41 at his pro day and posted a 40.5" vert

IMO Childs will be lucky to see the field this year. Harvin and Jerome Simpson will be the main receivers in MIN. Hill is raw, but runs Tebows favorite route. Situation is somewhat relevant in fantasy.

The guys ahead of Childs for that 3rd receiver spot are Michael Jenkins and Devin Aromashadu.  Harvin will be used in the backfield and seems like a natural for the slot, so IMO there is room for someone to get some good snaps on the outside. We'll see how Ponder develops though...
  • NYJ Wr's scare me, lol.  They will be running a lot this year IMO.  I do like Hill and what he could potentially become as an NFL WR but good lord that NYJ offense is really tough to rely on week in and week out.

Usually Jets WR scare me because of Sanchez, but with Hill, Sanchez (or Tebow) just needs to fling it long. Hill will be the only one to get to it. As his route running develops, he will be more valuable, but this year I wouldn't want him as more than a WR3.
  • Run team, run QB or bad QB, mostly ran fades in College... I'll pass.

with his speed and height it will only take two or three balls for him to have a very good game...but it will take a while but it did DT as well...i dont like owning any jets players but this kid has talent more so than any other offensive talent on that team..

  • In a dynasty league I'm grabbing Hill towards the end of the first round (rookie drafts) and holding. This kid will be great or a bust and we will find out which before his rookie season is over.

What's the difference between Stephen Hill and Tommy Streeter? Other than the fact that you can get Streeter several rounds later

    +1
I was high on Hill until he went to the Jets.  Officially not owning him.  I do like Childs' potential. And he did post a better 40 at his pro day.

You are right the two guys are similar and are likely to have similar
production in the long run. They are both gambles and neither are worth rostering in a redraft.

Opportunity! Hill is on a team that needs speed and Streeter is on a team that already has a couple of fast receivers. Hill will be playing regardless of which QB is in the game. Hill played in an offense similar to what the Jets will run when Tebow is on the field. It will take Streeter a few years to earn significant playing time while Hill will walk into a starting position. I like the fact we can judge Hill's NFL game this year and know if he is worth a roster spot or not.

    Thanks, BdDavidson.
