Murray vs Spiller

I'm relatively new to this forum, but one thing I have noticed is that Murray and Spiller seem to be ranked higher here than some other sites. Murray probably flashed brighter but also has more injury concerns. Who would you prefer and how big is the gap?

Murray by a wide margin. Spiller is good, but he cam be selected later in the draft.

I will be the only person on this forum to take Spiller here, I was one of the few to have his back the day FJax went down over at FFX.

You can get Spiller a good 4+ rounds later in the draft and IMO can get you just as good of numbers. In Spillers last 5 games of the year he averaged 16.57 Fantasy pts a week in my league. That number puts him 6th overall only behind Rice, MJD, Lynch, McCoy, Foster in that order.

Spiller will be a top 10 RB this year.
    My 2013 Predictions[Non-PPR]:
    [ ] C.J. Spiller Will Be Top 2 RB(Jan 9th)
[ ] Demaryius Thomas will be the #1 scoring WR in 2013(Feb 13th)

Today its Murray, who is the unquestioned starter and workhorse in Dallas.  A year from now I think they will be pretty close.  I give Murray a slight edge in skill, Spiller a slight edge in athleticism.  Both, at their current prices, are definitely buys.

Wow, top 10 with F. Jax back as well. Very Bold!!!

I like Spiller a lot, but I'm not seeing top 10 until he is the main guy there. Not a rbbc guy.

think it happens this year...becoming the lead man that is.. maybe not end up top 10 numbers but once he becomes the main guy put top 10 numbers especially in ppr..

  • JR convinced me with all valid points that Murray is the shiznit and a future stud, definately top 10 worthy. Spiller will be there soon but his road is not as golden. He needs to looks first.

Murray...Hes just as fast as Spiller (maybe faster) and a ton bigger. Hes built to be an every down workhorse back with small guy speed and in a great situation. Top 5 upside that Spiller lacks.

CJ2k and spiller are nearly identical in size/speed so he does have the potential IMHO..no one thought cj could be a top 5 either until he did it.. but i will hold off calling him or any other rb until it is proven..sure he isnt the size of Murray but does have the potential to take it to the house as does murray both will be very good backs..right now i say murray by a nose but spiller could be right there with him..spiller may have to wait one more year for top numbers but i do think he flirts with it soon..

CJ2K has SUB 4.3 speed. 4.24 I think. Thats why he was top 5. His lack of size is one of the reasons that sustaining top 5 is unlikely.

i read somewhere where spiller ran a 4.28..but Bo jackson also ran a 4.12..wtf...is he human..lol

just sayin that spiller does have enough speed to do it year after year IDK he hasnt done it yet so who knows if he ever does..or for that matter if murray does. i hope they both do it cause i own both of them in multiple leagues..:)

I love Spiller and his future potential but that's pretty BOLD.  I would agree if you were talking 2013 or 2014.

I like them both, but give a slight edge to Murray. It is a lot closer than people think.

I personally do not think its close at all. There's no way f jax doesn't hurt cj for the next 2 yrs there's nothing in Murray's way. I think that is the major difference and it's a biggie

Its huge for me as well. Dallas has already committed to Murray to be their workhorse and hes perfect for the role. The same cant be said of Spiller. And I do like Spiller to be a productive back and am drafting him in redraft leagues this season.

Only 1 so far and got him in round 9. I will be targeting him in all drafts this year though. Hes a great value but as the season gets closer Im assuming he will become more expensive.
