so since his hiring lovie has accomplished ONE thing and that one thing is labeled as unconventional by hiring tedford....hmmmmm....so he wont be EXACTLY the same lovie from a  year ago?...you mean the year off might have changed him?

we'll have to wait and see what happens - like my rant in another thread - the Bucs need a over the top WR that can get separation and a QB that can move left even a little those two things will make the O line better and the running game stronger.  If they don't address the WR and QB it will be a long season again next year. Creamsicle era all over again - good D and an O that can't get out of their own way.

Glennon is the answer for a backup-I guess either QB or WR in first round would be my guess - no separation by WR's = O line holding blocks to long and QB not having anywhere to throw the ball (1st round need yep). QB can't move to his left at all and is a liability to the offense (1st round need yep).

    Well based on this...

Qbs available for Bucs would be

    Possibly- Manziel, bortles, carr, hundley

wrs available- Watkins, Evans...if be shocked if both of those two were gone before their pick

I'll be honest, from a fantasy perspective I would much rather see Tampa take a qb than a wr here.
    Bold Predictions:
June 21- Dez Bryant finishes as the #1 WR in 2013.

So you don't think VJAX, Wright, and a healthy Mike Williams are enough at WR?  Maybe a speedy slot receiver is what they need…OL first, then QB, then a slot WR?

Coach Lovie Smith anticipates the Bucs fielding a "power running game" with "big-play ability in the passing game" under new OC Jeff Tedford.Smith specifically mentioned Doug Martin as a building block. Lovie also said he wants to "bring back" the Bucs' old smash-mouth style of play, with the NFL's most physical defense and a run-oriented offense. The hire of defensive-minded Smith bodes well forMartin's 2014 fantasy outlook. He won't hurt for touches.

so they want to "pound" the football and "bomb" it deep and play really good defense....sounds familiar...lol

Hmmmm, the old Tampa way would presumably mean Martin is the "Warrick Dunn", so are we to assume Lovie will be looking for his "Mike Alstott"? THE prototype and one of the original fantasy TD vultures!!!

Thing is that either of those two were decent fantasy options of their day, but niether were ever at the top 10 level that Martin was at.... I'm not so sure this news is good for Doug in fantasy terms..

I suppose, though I don't think Michael Bush ever really filled the role well... We also had Chester Taylor as the "other back" for Forte.... Neither of those two were ever really a great power back, but Lovie insisted around the goal line it seemed....

    I guess we'll see...

I'd go WR/QB first. IMO the O line will instantly become better if they don't have to hold the block so long-meaning some body get open down the field or the QB extend the play by moving either direction, something that Glennon cannot do.

I think everyone needs to slow down on evaluating how off everyone else's predictions are. It's all TBA, fellas, and it's all educated guessing. BDD isn't wrong going critical, it's his stance, biased or not biased, arguing against his stance as if he isn't bringing great evaluating to the table is silly (and screams "I own him!") :).

FFH, your stance is just fine as well, though. It's all educated guess work at this point, and honestly, I'm not sure what I think about Martin I'm 2014 just yet.

My gut says Forte being held back isn't going to exactly translate, nor am I 100% confident Smith won't want to use two backs, but with Martin getting the most. It's all about value on this one.

Can Martin still be a top 5RB? Absolutely.

Would I pick him near top 5-6 overall, even if his Adp commanded it? No.

So, I'll buy all day in drafts if he is a late late first, or preferably my second-drafted player, but of course the home run is hit if he rebounds fully. If he doesn't, he probably isn't too far off late 2nd round value should he stay healthy.

Of course this could all change...

I want owners to keep doubting Martin. Keep lowering his value fellas.
