For those don't know what's coming and for those that think Ball has no explosion.

Speed. Power. It's there. If you didn't think you saw it last year, get ready. Very well spoken guy, too. His head was in the right place last year despite the fumbles and early struggles. Imagine where he is this year as the team's early camp starter!

Again, this is a year ago.

Nice video. He is well spoken, but I already knew that. Nothing in the video was evidence of Ball being explosive, but I already knew that too.

why are you so anti Ball? What exactly is it you don't see? And what did he do( or not do) to learn that perception from you?

I've watched this guy for the past 4-5 years. I've seen the work ethic in college, the drive to succeed, the product on and off the field(cue Big 10 remarks about being bad), and record setting performances against the highest level of college football competition. Everything I've seen says this leads to a very good rb.

    I'm just curious...

I would agree with this. We are all entitled to our own opinions of any player but I guess I'm curious as well as to what you are looking at specifically that makes you feel he's sub par. You may have clarified before in specific post but all I ever see you say is that "
he has no explosion" without stating anything in support of your views. I would be interested in knowing what has led you to be so down on him.

    @stewss7

Should have put this in my first post. I just can't see how someone can say no explosion without some facts or info.

In the Hands dept., he's underrated... he just might haul-in 60 passes in 2014.

I wouldn't be surprised by that. In all the different areas of skills rbs have, catching is probably Balls weakest. And I wouldn't say he's bad at it, just not as strong as other areas.

He needs to prove he can pass block in preseason otherwise all the other stuff is pointless. If he can't protect Manning he won't play. He was better end of last season but still needs to improve to play every down Be interesting see if they bring in a rookie. Ball is better than Addai was so I won't argue he can't put up stats if Peyton trusts him. He needs be RB2 to be worth value at draft. The first round stuff is rich for me.
Nobody has brought up the frog suite yet and trying beg for attention.LOL

    Nah that was just funny
    Bold Predictions:
Cordarelle Patterson replaces Josh Gordon in the top 5 WR group.
(Julio, Calvin, AJG, CP, and Dez)

Andre Williams proves himself to be the best RB in this class, by having the most productive rookie season of all the rbs.

pAreach!  I think the LB comparison is key .... that's crazy ... not to mention the fact that most TEs outweigh him by 50+ lbs ... explosion

This is a chart of last years rookie explosion scores. Ball's is bad, but is only a piece to the puzzle. I'm in the "Ball is an average talent" camp, but I could easily see him as a top 5 RB next year. When it comes to RBs situation means everything, and he is by no means a bad RB, just not special.

    2014 Bold Predictions (PPR):
    1. Alfred Morris will be a top 5 RB (4/21/14)

I would be interested in knowing how the final numbers were compiled. Eddie Lacy didn't even have the vertical or broad jump scores yet he scored a .53? Also, Ellington scored a -.19 and I can't imagine anyone not considering him "explosive". Still an interesting graph though.

That's what makes fantasy so fun.. I think he is crazy special. I see it. It's in the sports science video as well as in my gut when I watch film/footage. He is gonna be amazing if he stays healthy, something that threatens any RB.

"One potential problem with the Explosion Index is exposed by Eddie Lacy’s ranking.  Because I only average the standard deviations above/below average for the drills that the player does, the Index might overvalue players that only participate in drills they know they can do well."
