JR i researched alot back in FEb i sure things may have changed alittle since then but samsung IMHO blew away vizio...when side by side and i would recommend go the highest number one can afford..clear picture = higher # such as i got an 8000 and you can get a 6300 for nearly half the price but the picture is just better if one can stomach the price.

I can't afford a 4k tv. I wish though, some of them are awesome

I have an older Vizio in my living room. We like that tv, it's just a little small. 42" I believe. The new tv is replacing this one actually.

I found a 55" Samsung LED, smart tv at Costco for a little under $800. Just not sure if there is something better. I'd like to stay under a grand if possible.

I've got the Vizio smart LED 55 TV" in Dec for around $749.00 and spent another $89.00 on a heavy duty swivel arm TV hanger. Which was well worth it. So you can pivot the TV in any direction if you have a room that can be set up in mutable ways. I haven't any problems with it and you clearly see the difference when channels are not In HD to the ones that are in HD. Amazed that I've been watching blurry TV for so long.
My league is a non PPR 12 person league having a roster of 19 players each. Active roster includes 1Qb 2Rb's 3Wr's 1Te 1K 1Def. Two weeks before draft we cut the roster down to 9 keepers. My team as of now:
QB Nick Foles, Russell Wilson, Josh McCown
RB Lamar Miller, Shane Vereen, Zac Stacy, Cierre Wood
WR AJ Green, Julio Jones, Josh Gordon, Rueben Randle, Kenny Stills
TE Z Ertz, M. Bennett, Delanie Walker
    DEF Kansas City, Cleveland
    K Steven Hauschka

(I'm not a expert but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!)

Have had my 50" LG plasma for 8 years now... HD looks as crystal clear today as it did 8 years ago. Highly recommend LG Plasma's.

I do not know much about electronics but from what Ive heard LED is superior to plasma. Is that incorrect?

LED is the latest technology, not necessarily the best technology...

edit- LED is newer technology than Plasma, not necessarily better than Plasma...

The guy at best buy said that LED has better pictures, longer lives and I think he said have better refresh rates but 120 or 240 htz should be the same regardless of product.

Technically Best Buy Rep. is correct about better refresh rates, but don't be fooled, read this:

    Motion blur

    Winner: Plasma

    Loser: LED LCD and LCD

    Motion
blur is when an object in motion on-screen (or when the entire image
pans/moves) blurs. Some of this is in the camera when the scene was
recorded, but most is done by the TV. Not everyone notices it, not
everyone is bothered by it, but it's there, predominantly with LED and
regular LCDs. The 120 Hz and 240 Hz higher
    refresh rates

were developed to minimize motion blur. To some degree this works, but
often the processing to create this cause an ultra-smooth image, which
    is called the
    "Soap Opera Effect."
SOE, REALLY bothers some people (myself included). Some people like it.

    Refresh rate
    Winner: Plasma, LED LCD, LCD

    It's
important to understand that the only reason LCDs have higher refresh
rates is to combat motion blur. Since plasmas don't have an issue with
motion blur (not nearly to the same extent, anyway), they don't need
    higher refresh rates
. In reality, the way LCDs and plasmas create
images are so different that you can't compare th refresh rate of one
    with the other. Check out
    What is 600 Hz?
     (plasma) and
    What is refresh rate?
     (LCD) for more info.
