The basis of my opinion about Robinson hasn't changed in months. I simply used a minicamp blurb as supporting evidence and as a conversation starter. My opinion is based on facts. Not little logic or what have you done for me lately. I gave actual production numbers in the OP. I actually find the opposite to be true. Using little logic is basing his breakout potential on combine measureables, which I assume you mean pro-day, and a blurb from the GM describing him two years ago. As far as chances go, he's had them. 6 years worth. I don't think he's not performing because he's never been given an opportunity. I'm not a fan of Wright either, and I wouldn't blame anyone for rostering either if picked up on the cheap. And you're right, Robinson could surprise me and breakout. I'm just trying to keep the hype in check with facts.

Robinson was a rookie in 2012.  Going back to college is pretty pointless.  In any event, it doesn't make any sense to completely write-off a starting TE, on a TE friendly team, with the best TE coach in the league, whom will cost you pennies.  I don't care if you think he's going to bust or not.  The guy hasn't been given a chance and has a very high ceiling based on opportunity and measureables- which is the way we fall in love with rookies.  No offense, none of us are scouts so having an opinion that he's going to suck and just blindly stay away from a guy with his potential is myopic and out of touch.  And to do it for a guy like Tim Wright who has virtually no ceiling and no future as an impact fantasy TE is even more myopic.

I just don't see how anyone can say he's not worth a pickup based on how little it will cost you and how high his ceiling is if he hits.

Why is it wrong if there opinion is that he isnt very good not ok and your opinion is he will be good is ok..both are opinions one isnt better than the other..

What team official said he wasn't very good?  You're reading into 'coachspeak' way too much.  Coaches will say things to motivate players, not to mention outright lie to the press.  I'm not saying he's going to be great or anything.  I'm just saying that it's wrong not to get him and see what happens.  Purposely avoiding him, based on said coachspeak, knowing how little it will cost, is the wrong move.

Anytime your drafting or picking up guys off waivers. It's your call no one else's as no one has a gun to your head saying to pick this guy over that guy. Everyone goes about picking guys differently and that's what makes drafting fun seeings guys fall to you when in others drafts they wouldn't because someone else felt differently about other players.
My league is a non PPR 12 person league having a roster of 19 players each. Active roster includes 1Qb 2Rb's 3Wr's 1Te 1K 1Def. Two weeks before draft we cut the roster down to 9 keepers. My team as of now:
QB Nick Foles, Russell Wilson, Josh McCown
RB Lamar Miller, Shane Vereen, Zac Stacy, Cierre Wood
WR AJ Green, Julio Jones, Josh Gordon, Rueben Randle, Kenny Stills
TE Z Ertz, M. Bennett, Delanie Walker
    DEF Kansas City, Cleveland
    K Steven Hauschka

Don't think I ever said he'll never be anything or break out. It could happen. I specially said I wasn't basing my opinion on coachespeak and instead on the numbers. The whole hype train began on coachespeak (the JPP of TE's.) I won't fault anyone for rostering him. Like I said multiple times when the price is as cheap as it now. I've just heard a lot of hype about the guy and wanted to tell everyone to excercise caution in their expectations. Take a flyer on him, i would rather take a flyer on someone I had more faith in is all.

    Gut overrides hype IMO!

I myself am curious as to see how Eli will adapt to his new OC first before I pull the trigger on Robinson. The Giants should have kept Bennett IMO but the wheels were already falling off with Kevin Gilbride at the helm.

Thanks @bddavidson. It's all good. GM Reece said today he expects a TE by committee. Of course the GM doesn't make the decisions on who starts and often times comments are made like this just to encourage competition. I feel like nobody is distancing themselves from the pack. Whoever becomes the #1 will have fantasy value so take a stab on whatever horse you like. I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a run at Jermichael Finley. I know Rolle was trying to recruit him and McAdoo was his position coach in GB

Tim Wright over Adrien Robinson?  Dude, that's a mistake.  Don't take one blurb in padless OTA's seriously.  Robinson has a serious opportunity with a very TE friendly coach.

The blurb on Wright had nothing to do with OTA's.  It was a blurb on how much they expect Wright to be a part of the Tampa offense.  Thanks for your input though.

That's part if the problem, stop reacting to a nonsense OTA blurb. Tim Wright is waiver wire fodder. Lovie Smith's teams never have a fantasy friendly TE. It's a run-first, ball control offense. They just drafted ASJ, whom they wouldn't have drafted if Wright was actually going to become large part of the offense. You're a smart guy, form your own opinion. Ignore the blurbs.

I just find it so hilarious that people are making fun of Robinson, saying they wouldn't want him and are a "staying away" when the guy is going to be given his first chance, has terrific combine measurables and plays for an extremely TE friendly offense on a team with the best TE coach in the league. Especially, because you can obtain Robinson for virtually peanuts.

I find it so fascinating that teams avoid guys like Robinson using very little logic and replace it with the opinionated ' what have you done for me lately' theory. But yet, you'll draft a rookie that's probably going to bust or a guy like Tim Wright just because he had a few nice games last year in a completely different system with a completely different roster. Tim Wright will be lucky to catch 35 passes.

@DefiantVitreous  There is no need to go so heavy against someone else's opinion. I listen to some coaches. I listen to some OTA reports. Some I don't. Some do make sense. Some don't. Disagreeing is fine, but when it upsets an entire thread (and I get multiple PMs from multiple people), your going at it all wrong. No attacks please.
