My input on the complaints

Great write up Font totally agree as this year caught almost everyone by surprise a freaky year for sure with RB's and injuries.

Smitty, please keep the upside board. No one else is as bold. When you hit, there is a good chance for a championship. When you don't, there is still an average chance of a championship. This is fantasy football, even the best team can lose in fantasy playoffs.

HANDS DOWN BEST SITE ON WEB....this sh!t isn't a science...there is no perfect formula for success....it takes some nuts to post opinions about players on the message board let alone create a site and post your thoughts in article forms for all to read and comment on....you take the good comments with the bad but like In the movie Saving Private Ryan there is a "correct way to complain"....some are doing it incorrectly....love u godfather

When the upside projections hit it's all "look at all the sleepers I/we found, I/we can really pick 'em!" and then when the going gets rough it's all "so what did you expect - it's your fault for relying solely on this info." Can't have it both ways. A little accountability goes a long way instead of essentially blaming me for going all out following the advice of a site that claims to be able to find the diamonds in the rough. You can't get credit for when you hit on something and not want any backlash when you don't hit. It doesn't work like that. If you guys want to be considered professionals learn to take your lumps. For all the flack that Matthew Berry gets not once has he ever wagged his finger at his readers for following his advice to a tee. Not once has he ever said "you should've known better than to follow my advice last year when I said take Vick #1 overall and make sure you get Gates in the first round".

And fonts: I don't think you understand how upside players work here. The way upside players are presented here is "in this year I/we hit on Arian Foster; in this year we struck big predicting Russell Wilson; we predicted the breakout of cam newton" etc. These aren't guys who just "outperformed their ADP", to paraphrase your post. These are studs, guys who won leagues for ppl. So the problem isn't me not understanding how the upside board works, the problem is with how the upside board is used and presented. Maybe what might be useful is not so much showing who the correct breakouts were in any given year, but saying "in 2012 the 10 ppl on our upside board finished on average 12 spots above their ADP." That way you remind ppl that you're just trying to find hidden gems who finish better than expected and not exactly the next Arian, AJ Green, Cam etc. For a free site sure you shouldn't expect backlash, once you charge well you need to show ppl you're able to get better results than they can on their own. I understand the point of your post but it's kinda bad form. Fantasy sports journalism really is like being a weatherman unfortunately - just because you predicted the weather right on Monday doesn't mean you get a free pass when you miss big on Tuesday - Friday weather.

Just shut up and go away already. When you draft a player on the upside board you essentially totally agree with what is being said so there is no one to blame...and thats where the problem lies. The freakin baby criers that are blaming others for their bad season. Its one thing to never be high on a player, not draft him and then say I told you so but to agree with someone, draft the play because you agree and then point fingers like you didnt agree and were forced to draft them is insane. Every single time you try to predict a breakout there is a much bigger chance that the player will not break out than he will. The odds are prob 80% he wont be elite and 20% he will because there are tons more average players out there than elite studs so hitting on the predictions is much harder and this site is geared towards dynasty anyway and not redraft. Wilson, Ball, Miller, etc could all still become studs in the future as they are all 22 and under.

But again...please just go away. I dont even care if I get backlash over this any more.

Fonts has been around forums with all of us for YEARS he knows how it works..you have been here for MINUTES...GO AWAY.

I wasn't being confrontational - I was responding to the original poster who was wagging his finger at ppl who are pissed. This is the forum to be pissed - I'm not gonna email my boss or vent to my wife about this season not going according to plan.

JUST GO AWAY. Im sure there are other sites out there where you will be happier and not have to complain all the time. I know I would rather be somewhere that I didnt feel I needed to bad talk all the time and be negative. If its so bad just leave. Or are we forcing you to be here like we forced you to draft players that didnt break out this year?

Seriously? You want to act like your post wasn't meant to cause additional controversy on this matter and that it wasn't meant to be confrontational? You called out an individual for posting something he felt was missing on the part of the individuals that were complaining (including you apparently). If that is how you feel about DraftCalc, then move on. It's pretty simple IMO. No one forced your hand at drafting any of the players on the upside board. You did that because you believed in them just as much but now you want someone else to be held accountable for their under-performing. Time to look in the mirror and be held accountable HellAtlantic. Stop pointing fingers and be an adult.

You're being irrational and unprofessional. So you honestly want a forum where ppl bow down and worship you/Smitty when you guess right and keep silent when you miss big? Does that seem like a balanced place to be a part of? This is all bad form and unprofessional.

And what Smitty was getting on the start bench advise comments is far more than "accountability". He doesnt deserve that crap from those idiots.

Go fond a cookie cutter site that gives computer generated projections based on player weekly averages and feel safe and sound. Why would you waste your time here right now if you feel its so bad?

The only difference guys is I don't charge money for my opinion. If I'm wrong I'm wrong. However things change once you charge money - ppl expect results and you need to show you can guess correctly more than 50% of the time otherwise you aren't doing a better job than what someone can do on their own. This forum is very unprofessional, ppl look to vent and you try to sweep them under the rug.

Because I spent money for the season and I'm going to get my money's worth. The only thing you're doing to ensuring I don't spend additional money in future seasons. Congrats. :)
