I think Gary has an excellent point! The rest of the ff world is so redraft oriented, and I never would have started dynasties without the influence of draftcalc. THAT is what sets DC apart. And I think it would behoove you to capitalize on that! Get people hooked on dynasties so that they stay for more than just a year! It also creates much more of a sense of family within the website than the redraft sites do

The key questions here are this:

1) How useful are our IN-SEASON: a) start bench article, b) weekly projections, c) rankings and trade calcs

2) AND if I told you we could trade all that in for a ramped up off-season product (Feb-Sept) that starts the moment after the NFL Super Bowl and lasts until Kickoff of Week 1, yet still maybe still have weekly line-up rankings, I'm not sure how that' can't be a good move.

And I know the first question will be, why can't we do both? I'd ask that question myself, but again, content-wise, it's just me, and there is only so much one man can write and plug his all into. I did the 5-10 writer site, and that's not what my vision was/is for DraftCalc. DraftCalc is just my take on the content side to go along with one of the best forum communities (with best mods) in the business.... I don't want to bring on 2-3 writers, that's not the vision. Funneling all efforts into the Off-Season is such a good move for our dynasty, and even redraft prep, content. Redraft content during the Off-Season will improve just as much as the Dynasty, don't get me wrong... our entire FEB-SEPT product will be intense.

We still have lots of votes to capture, but I'll be honest, I think you get a more energized product from a fresh mind this way. Like the restaurant that closes for dinner and is only open for breakfast and lunch, it can still be the best restaurant you visit. And, the great news is that our forums, with possibly weekly line up rankings, makes it so our restaurant is still serving appetizers during the "dinner" (off-season) hours.

In season should be a dynasty discussion as well. Who to buy/sell, who to pick up, deep sleepers, etc.

The redraft market is completely saturated, you could establish a corner of the market if you make your website dynasty oriented.

It makes sense economically, and I think suits most of the members of this site.

I personally would love to see more IDP content on this site. Perhaps you could sell it as a separate subscription.

Well, I wont lie to you guys, if I go the route that has our paid product being FEB-Kickoff, there wont be content in-season even for dynasty. You guys know me, though, I'm sure I'll release top 25 dynasty player articles mid-season, and I'll have more time for forum convo... redraft league and 'in-season' dynasty content will just be more on the forums through convos... so the content will truly be just FEB-Kickoff of Week 1. I can't promise free weekly line-up rankings during the season, but at this moment, I can see that being the one free product we offer during the in-season along with the forums. That will keep some redraft only people happy, but again, you would be shocked how hardcore our dynasty crowd is, and how dormant non-forum users get after Week 1-2. Most just use fantasy sites to draft, and the other types of people are here on the forums. Not sure there is a big population of diehard redraft leaguers that wouldn't be on this forum.

Well, with our Off-season product-only model, I would have IDP on the list of things I'd really aim to add.

I like the idea of focusing on dynasty .it what you have built this site for. focusing and all idp/rookie and the such. i do use the rankings and projection as a simple guide.i dont see redraft guys paying for content as the forum is free and they get instant feedback on just about any question

I like the in season rankings, I view the projections. I would still like to see in season updated rankings and buy low/sleeper during the season as well. I also have an idea for something in season, but it would definitely eat up a lot of time, but could definitely be very useful in helping determine what players to possibly start. That being said, the off season stuff you make is very good for Dynasty.

I love this site in the off-season, because this is one of the only sites that continues to go through full throttle Feb-Aug.

I rely on this site for rookies since I don't watch college football.

I only ask start/sit questions because I value the opinions of DCers...at the same time, it is pointless to ask since I am one of 50+ start/sit threads on the weekend...

I'm a first year redraft guy. I paid because I wanted the content. The content I was looking for was some thought out analysis. I wanted to know the pros and cons of starting this player against their weekly match up and which of the two carried more weight. Now that I've bought in, I know I can get that in the forums. I trust Smitty and I like his ideas. I also want to know what everyone else thinks, too. These forums are awesome. Many thanks go out to DCers.

I peruse the projections, but you're right, it's hit and miss. I look at sit/start mostly to see if there is any point of view or tidbit that I hadn't considered. I'm not afraid of this site focusing more on dynasty because I know the forums are filled with active people who put up great opposing views.

Though I think a monthly and/or as-needed content throughout in-season would be best, I say go for it and focus on the off-season side. As long as the forums are moderated and kept active, your product will be solid.

I watch 10-12 hours of college football most weeks. Depending on the rules in a dynasty league, the rookie draft can be the most important part building a dynasty.

I would love a site dedicated to offseason dynasty info and especially the rookie rankings, both after the draft and through training camp (to follow their situation/opportunity and progress). I don't follow the in-season rankings much, other than throwing out sit/start questions for opinions in the forum, even better with the polls now. Good idea there.

Thanks,and again, content would be upped big time in the offseason. So for the same sub price, you're getting prob more content than ever, it's just crammed into Feb-week 1 kickoff.. Then I live on the forums like you guys during the in season.

Exactly. You can't just look at college stats like the NFL because the competition varies so much. You have to watch or trust someone to watch & evaluate.

Well, we will attack rookies how we have, just make the content much more rich and detailed. But content, aside from the forum, will only run FEB-Sept.

Not attacking rookies during college season is going on is wrong though.. Knowing the value of certain.firsts in November is way more helpful then knowing in April
