1.03 + Lamar Miller for Montee Ball?

Ray Rice has a lot of miles on the tires between Rutgers and Baltimore being in the playoffs annually.  He could rebound for sure, but for how long?  I wouldn't of traded Decker before he went to NE.  What better way to screw over Denver for taking Welker than to take Decker?  I almost consider this a done deal unless somebody goes stupid and offers him like 13-15mil.

I love the trade. Rice is low cost and Vereen was my flex. Decker wasn't starting, as he wasn't my flex and can only start 2WRs.

While I could still try and upgrade Rice, let's say  a McCoy or Jamaal using the 1.03 and Lamar Miller, but I love Rice at that value. He is still young, and my best guess is that things change running wise in BAL in 2014. Pierce is a beast, and he couldn't find room to run in 2013. It wasn't all Rice, if any. That said, there is the risk BAL doesn't improve the running game. Great gamble at Vereen/Decker value.

I love ray rice and his game ,but even if he returns to form alot to give, that's how deals get done two sides to every coin.

My opinion is decker alone or a lesser part

I traded r randle for rice 4 weeks ago and people felt I paid to much but I was thrilled ...

Randle? Come on. That's crazy. Rice is still a top 25 overall dynasty guy IMO. Is there risk? Sure there is, or he wouldn't fall into RB2 type value.

In fact, I just acquired Rice again in another league for Gronk and a 2nd rounder. I have Pierce in that league, though, so I feel great about the duo.  I have Ertz at TE, so I am driving this line-up in dynasty ppr:

    QB: Aaron Rodgers
    RB1: Ray Rice  / Pierce
    RB2: Trent Richardson
    Flex: Darren Sproles
    WR1: AJ Green
    WR2: Keenan Allen
    WR3: __________ tba
    TE: Zach Ertz

With Christine Michael as either trade bait or future.

Not sure what league that is :) But hey, all league mates are treating players at different values. I myself, and I could be wrong, have Rice well ahead of Decker. Again, Decker was valued as a 2nd rounder in this league, no one was biting but me.

Rice is either loved or hated right now. He is either able to be had on the cheap, or at third round type value.

I myself pay Gronk or Decker/Vereen type value all day, as Rice will surely earn that value back in worst case (assuming he stays healthy). He could very well bounce back. I firmly believe that if it was Rice's fault he played so bad last year, Pierce would have thrived when in the lineup. He didn't.

It's arguable, no question, and respect any anti-Rice opinion. It is why we play!

Hah. I'd laugh at the other guy for rejecting that.
    Bold Predictions:
Cordarelle Patterson replaces Josh Gordon in the top 5 WR group.
(Julio, Calvin, AJG, CP, and Dez)

Smitty agree I am buying rice but at a lower price that's all.

I traded rice/ pierce prior to last season I. A league and am going to get them back real soon for far less, the want j Thomas for rice I will squeeze them for pierce as well ...

It's strange how different groups/leagues value differently, huh?

Agreed, buy lower if you can, i would. Couldn't. But, even at this price, what some see as overpaying, I love the value still.

nice trade for rice; gave up fair value yet likely way improved weekly starter scoring.
perceptions of value for many players are all over the map. just in this thread: rice, miller, ball, decker values range widely. zombie apocalypse near or ??

I agree, I don't like the move for Rice. However, I'm also concerned with the fact that he's accused of knocking his fiancée unconscious. Add that off-field concern to his pathetic YPC in 2013 and I don't think Rice is a top 25 dynasty player.

I love the Britt/2d for Decker deal for you, but hate dealing Vereen and Decker for Rice. I like the idea of buying low on Rice, just not at that price. This highlights what I love about dynasty leagues though, it's all based on perceived future value, which is really just a matter of opinion. And I can testify to the fact that you've made some great moves in the past in your expert leagues. So, I hope you are right about Rice and this works out well for you. I do expect Decker to pull a Mike Wallace and get overpaid, yet underperform.

Keep in mind it wasn't all those for Rice... It was Gronk for Rice then the other deal was Vereen and Decker. There might have been some picks in there... Just wanted to clear that up, as the way you said it was if I gave up all three in one deal.

Second, the situation got A LOT worse after the trade.. I still like the value a lot if he avoids a suspension and things aren't as bad as they seem. Rice, if still starting, can still be a top 5-10RB IMO. We shall see how it shakes out.

Yeah, nobody could have expected Rice to get arrested like that. He's always had a good reputation on and off the field. The off-season can be unpredictable with off the field incidents.
