Quarterbacks

Robert Griffin III (QB-Redskins)

Height: 6-2, Weight: 223 | College: Baylor | Forty Time: 4.30-4.39

Smitty’s Take: (4/27/12) Robert Griffin III has huge upside in Washington, and given what the Redskins gave up to get him, you can bet that they will immediately build the future around this kid. Griffin is very mobile, runs around a 4.38 forty, and has great experience throwing high-percentage passes… The downside to Griffin is that he will have to learn a much different offense in Washington than was run at Baylor, but this kid is relatively polished… he will pick up things quickly, and he has the skill set to mature fast… he is a much better passer than Michael Vick was coming out of college, and while I don’t think RG3 will pull a Cam Newton in 2012, I think the QB could end up being an eventual top 6-10 fantasy quarterback. His ceiling might be even a touch higher, but that really depends on what weapons Washington decides to provide the rising star. Still, the talent pool in Washington is much better than the talent pool in Indy, which means RG3 is likely to get to elite faster than Andrew Luck.

NFL Comparison: Cam Newton
